As part of the Academic Program Review Process implemented by Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), an external review team, made up of top experts, met last week to  discuss and evaluate how effectively the Geophysics program is working at SUSTech.

The specialists in the field of geophysics from top universities around mainland China joined the committee, formed by the Academician and Head Chen Xiaofei from the Department of Earth and Space Science. Head and Professor Chen Yongshun of the Department of Ocean Science and Engineering and other experts of SUSTech also joined.

The committee focused on quality of the program, including the purpose, curriculum, faculty, teaching, research, and other issues associated with the discipline and the field, and compared which to the national standards . This wide-ranging discussion formed the External Review Report.

The final Report will help SUSTech to pursue a higher level of achievement and quality in the university, and in the service of program improvement.
