New postgraduate students registered at College of Science, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) on August 27th, starting a new page in their campus life. Earlier on Thursday, over 30 faculties including the student’s counsellors, administrative workers, faculties at each departments and institutes of the College came to arrange the registration point and make clear the registration process by putting various signs, making every effort to provide one-stop registration service. The whole process took a mere twenty minutes from their entry to registration.

The College enrolled 485 students for graduate studies for the 2020 school year, including 298 master students, 182 doctoral students and 5 visiting students from Rice University. With special shuttle buses running through the campus to help the freshmen, students arrived at the registration point soon. Their arrival fueled the atmosphere at the hall, and all the faculties felt thrilled to see them. With well preparation in the earlier two months and the joint contribution from all faculties and volunteers, the registration process went smoothly and orderly.

The registration day climaxed upon the arrival of university leadership. Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) Council Chairperson Yurong GUO, President Shiyi CHEN, Deputy Party Secretary Fengliang LI, Vice President Dongxiao ZHANG and directors of related departments came to see the new students. SUSTech University Council Chairperson Yurong GUO affirmed the work the College ahead of the registration and extended her gratitude to all the faculties and volunteers. President Shiyi CHEN went to shake hands with the freshmen, he showed the welcome on behalf of the leadership.
