Recently, the team led by Professor Jiaqing He from the Department of Physics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) made great progress in SnSe based thermoelectric (TE) materials. Their results, entitled “Momentum and energy multi-band alignment enable power generation and thermoelectric cooling,” have been published in one of the most famous international journals, Science.

Recently, Prof. Haiping XIA from the Department of Chemistry at College of Science, SUSTech and Prof. Hsing-Lin Wang from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering made significant progress on the research of cathode interfacial materials (CIL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs), leading to a publication in the Journal of American Chemical Society (JACS), which was also selected as the front cover.

Recently, the research group of Associate Professor Qihang Liu of the Department of Physics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has made substantial progress in the field of magnetic topological materials. Their research results were recently published in the top journal Nature Communications, entitled “Spectral signatures of the surface anomalous Hall effect in magnetic axion insulators”.

Recently, Associate Professor Wei Shu’s research group from the Department of Chemistry at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has achieved a series of progress in precise green catalysis, emphasizing first-row transition-metal catalyzed selective synthesis. Their relevant results have been published in some of the top academic journals, such as Angewandte Chemie, Nature Communications, and ACS Catalysis.

Recently, Chair Professor Jiaqing He’s research group from the Department of Physics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) published their recent progress in high-entropy-stabilized thermoelectrics. Their paper, entitled “Entropy engineering promotes thermoelectric performance in p-type chalcogenides,” was published in the high-impact academic journal Nature Communications.

Professor Xumu Zhang from the Department of Chemistry at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and Associate Professor Gen-Qiang Chen from the SUSTech Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies realized the highly efficient and asymmetric synthesis of prostaglandins using the self-developed enyne cycloisomerization and asymmetric hydrogenation reaction as the key steps, which significantly improved the synthetic efficiency. Their result was published in Nature Chemistry, entitled “Concise, Scalable and Enantioselective Total Synthesis of Prostaglandins.”
