The American Geophysical Union (AGU) recently held its Annual Meeting 2023, where Shaoting FENG, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), received an Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA).

On October 24, the American Physical Society (APS) announced that Qikun XUE, President of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Chair Professor of College of Science(SUSTech), Professor of Tsinghua University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has received the 2024 Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Physics Prize (Oliver E. Buckley Prize) in recognition of his achievements in the fields related to topological insulators and the quantum anomalous Hall effect.

Junxin GUO, Research Assistant Professor of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), won the C.F. Ying (Chongfu Ying) Award for Young Ultrasonics Scholars.

Ying HU, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), has been honored with the SEG/Norman and Shirley Domenico Scholarship.

Ziqing XIANG, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), was awarded the 2022 Kirkman Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions in the fields of design theory, algebraic combinatorics, and graph theory.
