With graduation nearly upon him, Department of Chemistry graduate Zhang Zisheng from Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has already received his dream offer from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to continue his studies. In the final stages of his degree, Zhang Zisheng told us about how he planned to further his studies abroad and shared his experiences.

Earlier this week, the Department of Biology at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) held a special job fair at the Student Affairs Centre.

January 19 saw the College of Sciences of Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) hold its 2019 New Year Party. SUSTech Council Chairperson, Guo Yurong, Director of the Office of Communications and Public Relations Zhang Ling and Director of the Office of Human Resources Chen Zhifeng attended the party. The College of Sciences worked with other departments to organize the event, with nearly 200 faculty members and their families attending to welcome the Spring Festival.

Last week saw the announcement of new members of the board of directors for the American Society for Materials Research (MRS). Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) was thrilled to have Professor of Physics Zhao Yusheng appointed to the MRS board of directors, effective January 1st 2019.

The office of Xu Zongxiang, an associate professor in the Chemistry Department, is small but comfortable. Talking about the “Distinguished Administrative Service Award” won by him at the 2018 SUSTech Teachers’ Day Award Ceremony, Mr. Xu, who was a little reserved in the face of the camera at the beginning, is radiant with joy.
