1st Shenzhen Grubbs Institute – Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (CAS) Seminar held

Over the weekend, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute hosted the first Shenzhen Grubbs Institute –Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIOC-CAS) Seminar. SUSTech University Council Vice Chairperson Li Fengliang, SIOC-CAS Director Tang Yong, and Deputy Secretary Liu Fei of the SIOC-CAS Party Committee attended the seminar. Department head of Chemistry Zheng Zhiping and Executive Director of the Shenzhen Grubbs Institute presided over the seminar.

The 8th Grubbs Symposium held at SUSTech

On the morning of March 21st, 2019, the 8th edition of the Grubbs Symposium opened at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Robert H. Grubbs, co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2005, the Victor and Elizabeth Atkins Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), foreign associate of Chinese Academy of Science, and SUSTech President Shiyi Chen attended the opening ceremony.

SUSTech holds chiral chemistry seminar

January 11-13th saw the Chinese Chemical Society’s Chiral China 2019 Academic Seminar (Seminar) held at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). SUSTech President Chen Shiyi and Dean of the College of Science Yang Xueming attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. More than 540 representatives from domestic research institutes and universities along with R&D experts in chiral science and drugs from around the world attended the Seminar.

SUSTech hosts seminar and forum on condensed matter physics

Last weekend, Southern University of Science and University (SUSTech) took the role as key organizer of the Nanshan Academicians Seminar and the South Forum on condensed matter physics. SUSTech President Chen Shiyi attended the seminar that was presided over by Vice President Teng Jinguang. Dean Yu Dapeng of the Shenzhen Institute of Quantum Science and Engineering chaired the Academicians Seminar. More than 200 heads of physics departments from around China attended the forum, along with high-profile academicians.
